corned beef

I am craving for Argentina corned beef right now. For those who do not know, it is a brand from the Philippines. I love its taste so much and I am craving for it like crazy. I had a taste of this particular brand months ago when I chanced a few cans at a Filipino store but that was it. I tried to order more but the store owner said it was hard to get. I guess when something is next to impossible to get that is when the cravings get so bad. If is isn't crazy. One of these days, when we have the the money, I might ask my parents to send me another package with my favorite goodies from the Philippines. My father complains how shipping is more expensive than the items inside the box but I don't care. All I want is to get a little taste of the things I was used to. If only there is a store I can get Argentina corned beef. Hays!

fly for free

I have heard from friends that Colorado is a beautiful place. The mountains is glorious and breathtaking. I have also read stories about the state and it is all good. No wonder Telluride Tourism is booming. Plenty of people want to be in a quiet place where they can commune with nature and do things one can only do in a place like Telluride. I personally would want to see the Telluride Balloon Rally. The image of the skies being littered with colorful hot air balloons should be awesome. The husband and his sister will love this place. They are both into activities which are nature oriented and fun. Besides this will be a new experience. We have talked last year of visiting other states mostly those which have something different to offer. And what good timing since Telluride, Colorado (www.visittelluride.com) is hosting twenty weekend festivals and events this summer and is promoting a special "4th Flies Free". Should we have the money and we decide to go, when we buy three tickets we can get the fourth ticket free for the sister-in-law. Isn't it amazing? I hope we have the money to spare this year. If not then we can go next year. I really love to visit places like this. It will be good for the whole family.

text messaging works for us

Sending text messages, I have found out, is cheaper than calling international. We have paid hundreds of dollars for my international calls alone that it is making our heads ache. I am trying to cut back on international calls so what I do now is send text message to say hi or when something needs to be done on either end. It is precise and cheap. Unlike if I will call I have to talk and it usually lasts about an hour or maybe more which ends up with us paying a hefty amount for our phone bill. Whereas a text message is only twenty cents for outgoing and incoming and it limits the conversation to the important details. No more gossip here for sure. I still call from time to time but not almost daily like what I used to do. It is high time to make changes on our spending habits. And we start here :)

on vacations

Most people want to break away from their normal routine every once in a while. They go as far away as possible on vacations to enjoy and recharge. Who does not like to go on vacation? My family lives for it, lol. We just love to go places provided we have the financial capability to do it. That is why we try to save. We spend our vacations mostly on the beach. A few days of sand and sea. Ah, nothing beats that. Until I heard about all inclusive vacations. What it is, everything you might want on your vacation is paid for in advance, by you, of course. Which means you can eat, drink, play your favorite sports without having to open your wallet. The first word that came to my mind when I understood what it meant was awesome. And it is. Sometimes the worries of whether the pocket money is enough for the expenses one might incur on vacation is stopping people from going on vacations. Especially if you go out of the country, say, on a caribbean vacation where you have to get into consideration the currency conversions. But with the emergence of all inclusive resorts you have the time to save up for your vacation. Once that is paid for, then you can start saving for the pocket money which you only have to spend for maybe presents for family and friends back home. We should try this one day. The husband and I have not been to the Caribbean yet.

cause and effect

I am so sleepy right now. The little man woke us very early this morning with a phone call, lol. He slept twelve hours and at six in the morning decided he had enough. I had to stay with him so he will not get into trouble even if I still want to crawl back to bed with the husband. I have a feeling this will happen again tonight if he will take his nap now. I don't think he has plans of taking a nap anyway. He is busy tearing up the DVD case I gave him in exchange of the CD. That DVD is pretty new and I don't want him to scratch it by sinking his big teeth in it like he did his other older DVDs. Anyway, I hope I will stay awake until he goes to bed. I am about to fall off the chair, lol.

time to head to the beach

The weather is warm and it is time to head to the beach for a swim and a nice tan. We started going weeks ago even if it was still too cold for me. My boys love the beach and could stay there for hours as long as we bring something to munch on and chairs to relax in. I have been wearing my swimsuits as well because the husband nags at me if I don't. He said how can I run after his son if I am afraid to get wet. Well, he is right. At least if I am wearing my swimsuit I don't have to worry about getting wet or getting in the water with my little boy. Besides it feels good not to have too many clothes while staying in the beach. I have three two piece bathing suits that I purchased in our three years living here in the South. After I gave birth though I am not that comfortable exposing my tummy so I am looking for a nice pair of tankini like what the model is wearing in the image above. It is cute and I love the color. And it is affordable. Compared to the obscene prices of swimsuits here in our area, this is pretty cheap. I so want one! It is time to save my hard earned money for a gorgeous tankini. Or maybe let the husband pay for it like he did my other three pairs? Now that is an idea.

incident

The husband and I decided that we will not go with him to the insurance place because he did not have time to wait for me and the little man to get ready. But when the little man started crying while watching Nick, Jr. he changed his mind. We did not know why he cried. I left him sitting in the couch because I had to fix our bed and the next thing I know he was crying with real tears falling from his eyes. He tried to explain but we could not understand because he was hiccuping like he was distressed. I was afraid he might have been hurt but there was no way since I could hear him talking to himself prior to the crying incident. The father was worried so he decided to wait for us and off we went. He said there was no way he will leave his son. We still don't know why he cried. I have two theories: one, was that he did not want the show he was watching to end, or two, it might have had something to do with the commercial which showed people in varying forms of distress. We don't really know. All we know now is that we will not be watching television shows for a while. The crying gave us a fright. To think we rarely watch tv and this incident happened. We will stick to the news should we watch tv next time.

demanding

I ordered a few DVD for my son to watch. Of the five that I bought he only favors one and he wants it on the whole day if he can get away with it. I am already feeling nauseous hearing Dora say bridge, rock, library. He even memorized the songs from Jack's Music Show, and he already knows what to say when Steve asks what he needs to solve the next clue on Blue's Clues-yet he still likes to watch it every single day since it was purchased. If I so much as think about switching CD's I get yelled at with a big NO!. Talk about being demanding. If he is in a good mood though he watches the shapes and colors and animal DVD. But there is nothing like Nick Jr shows I guess. I sometimes hear the husband sing Rain, Rain Go Away, lol. What fun it is to have a toddler in the house.
