convertible is fixed
Hubby bought a convertible car he can use to drive to work. With gas as expensive as it is right now he was happy to have found a four cylinder car which should be easy on gas. Also he said that is what I will use when we resume my driving practice. It is small so it will be easy for me to park and drive. Though I like to drive the SUV it is kinda big and parking is hard. Hopefully with the car fixed just last night, we can drive it this weekend. I am so happy and proud of my husband for fixing the car. It proved to be a delicate job what with taking the engine out and unscrewing all bolts and then putting it back again after the parts were replaced. He spent a few hundred dollars on parts which is better than spending more for a new engine. I didn't have any doubts he will get it fixed though. He is good with cars that even other mechanics he works with asks him to fix their cars for them, all for free of course. He loves to help out when he can.

broken record
I know I sound like a broken record sometimes but here I am again. I am bored! I have been feeling this since I woke up this morning. There was nothing else to do after I cleaned the house and taking care of my boy. I am waiting for some miracle to happen like maybe tasks pouring in or something nice on my inbox. Maybe this has something to do with being undecided whether to go back to PI or not this year. It is stressing me. I know all I have to do is leave it all to God and he will make the decisions for me. After all if it is meant for me and my family to go this year then He will provide ways and means for us to do it. If not then we can go next year. I have to give all my burdens to Him and I know He will help us out.

special trip to the store
I forgot to remind hubby earlier today that bubby is out of food. My boy still is picky with table food that I prepared (with good reason, lol) so I make it a point to buy him tubs of kids food which he likes. I am also going to try to feed him chicken nuggets and see how he likes it. And maybe if I am lucky he will eat the fish fingers that I bought for him. Anyways, so bubby ran out of food and I had to ask hubby to bring me to the store just so I can get my boy his food. I made sure I have plenty so we won't run out and had to make special trips to the store just for it. I already gave him his dinner so I am now free to do what I want. While watching him that is.

the place to look
When you need anything like clothes and such you normally go to the store or the mall to shop right? Now you don't have to do that. If you know your size and the clothes you need all you have to do is shop online. You can go to Shopwiki to look for the items you need may it be women's suit, casual clothes or a little black dress you need for a party you are invited into.
And if you are a mother like me, you will love their babies and toddler page where it lists guides on different baby products. I specifically like the travel and outdoor fun guide. I have been looking everywhere for bike trailers so we can bring bubby with us when hubby and I decide to go bicycling. And while there maybe I will find me petite clothes for myself as well. My size is not fairly common and hopefully I will find it at Shopwiki.

fun saturday
We didn't go anywhere today except to go with hubby to several Autozone stores and then to Parks to get the parts he needed to fix the convertible in the garage. We stayed home after that and just chill. And I must admit I like it. I promised bubby to give him early lunch and then I'll let him play in the mini-pool in the backyard. I did and he was so happy. His nephew joined him and they had fun together. When I got him out he didn't complain at all which meant he had his fill. I put him to bed where he crashed and didn't wake up until four in the afternoon which gave me time to be with hubby in the yard fixing his car. This is the first weekend ever where I didn't complain about going anywhere. I was just content. Maybe it has something to do with the knowledge that tomorrow will be my day. I will call the shots and name the places I want to go to and things I want to do. Actually it is because my boys are being good so I have to, too. Lol.

looking for a new digital camera
The digital camera that I bought a year ago has been acting up for the last few weeks. I don't know what is wrong with it. I have read and re-read the manual including the troubleshooting page but I still could not find the answer to my problem. It is then that I decided to just get me a new digital camera maybe from another brand. I want to get one with more megapixel than what I have now so I can be assured of quality pictures. I only want the best especially when taking a picture for my boy. And there is a nice place to get this from. Dealtime in UK offers a vast option of digital cameras. I just have to choose the best one I can find.
weekend
Thank goodness it's Friday! And it is said with much enthusiam too, if you haven't noticed the exclamation point. Lol. Anyways, I always feel glad when this day comes because the next two days are hubby's days off. We really don't do much on weekends but it is fine with me as long as we spend it together. Weekends is family day. We do things at our own pace, no rush and no appointments. Bubby loves it too since he gets to play in the yard for as long as he like. Maybe he can play in the mini-pool that his sister left in the yard tomorrow if the weather will be warm enough.

pretty day
It looks beautiful outside. The birds are chirping, the sun is up, and with the temperature in the upper 80's later it sure will be a warm day. Everything is as pretty as a picture. This is what I like living in the south. Aside from the fact that I can get fresh seafood anytime I want, the weather is almost the same as my native PI. Almost is the operative word though. There are bad days but all in all I like it here. I am glad we moved here though part of me feel sad for living far away from hubby's family. But when you think about it, I moved from another country to here. Plus we can always visit them anytime we like and them us. As for my family in PI I am sure we will visit them one of these days. We are just looking for the perfect date. I am happy that we found us a nice place to live. And happier still that I get to spend it with the loves of my life. My boys.

stormy weather
Yesterday was a stormy day in the south. There were tornado watch in various counties including ours. Thankfully it started when hubby was home so I felt safer. It was so dark and gloomy outside with thunder and lightning. Surprisingly, the rain skipped our place but drenched most places. Hubby tried to mow the yard but he said the lightning looked too close so he came inside to my relief. I didn't want him out anyway what with the weather as bad as it was. We didn't even get to watch Wheel of Fortune because the whole time the local channels were doing follows up on the storm. It passed after about three hours and I felt better. I am afraid of their storms here, fierce and comes without preamble. It could be sunny and warm but in a matter of minutes it could get so dark and rain will come pouring in like crazy. I am trying to get used to it but I know it will take some time. We just got to be cautious all the time and pray. The last is our best weapon.
talked to a friend
I talked to a friend via yahoo chat and I am glad she is fine. She has been through a lot and I am happy that she finally settled down with her kids. She has a job, the kids are doing good in school, and she just got back from her vacation to the Philippines. A year ago her life was in chaos. Thankfully she did fine and got back on her feet again. Now she says she has never been happier with her life. She said she has moved on and that she just wants to give the best to her kids. I am happy for her. I am glad the kids are doing fine as well. Maybe we will meet again one of these days with the promised lechon, lol.

breaded okra and poppers
Deep fried and so good! This is what I prepared for dinner plus a few slices of pickled banana peppers and sauerkraut. I don't even know if these food should go together but that's what we had for dinner and it was so good. Hubby and I ate the one pack of breaded okra I deep fried. I didn't eat the poppers though. When I was done deep frying the veggies I deep fried a few dried fish to camouflage the smell, lol. I still can smell a hint of the dried fish but it is not as bad when I pan fry it. I decided to go ahead and do it since I am not sure if hubby will have the time to fire up the grill tomorrow because he is busy with other things. I discovered that grilling the dried fish doesn't result to a very stinky smell maybe because it is done outside and the wind carries it to far away places. Anyways, we had vegetables and I have fish. I am still a little hungry though. But I have to control myself or I will grow sideways. Hays!

dinner for two
Just had dinner with hubby. This is one of those rare times that we had dinner together since he usually don't eat dinner and I only eat when I am hungry. I know we are an odd couple but this works for us. I fried some chicken wings and ate it with rice and gravy while hubby ate his with jalapeno poppers. With cold sweet tea as drinks and that was dinner. Nothing fancy actually. Just the fact the we had dinner together made me write this entry. I have to give bubby his meal after this since he is still watching wheel of fortune. Gotta go.
waiting...
For hubby to get home :) It is sometimes boring me to just sit and wait for him to come home from work. Of course I have other things to do like taking care of my boy but sometimes bubby doesn't want to include me when he is playing and I can't do anything about it. And when he is taking a nap I am left with either tinkering with the computer or reading. Hays, this is one of the times I long for neighbors like in Leyte. You can just holler and somebody will come out and talk or you can cook something for the kids. But then I like my alone times too. Well, we really can't have all we want. I am not complaining though, I am just I guess venting.
what is going on
I decided to place a call to Leyte and ask what is going on there right now. It is our town fiesta in honor of San Isidro Labrador and there are a lot of activities right now. It actually started a few days before the fiesta and probably will continue a few days after. That's how it is celebrated and everybody loves it. The stores, the people, the perya, and a lot more. When I called around 9pm my parents were in town shopping. That is what is nice during the fiesta, people get to stay up late and enjoy. So they were in town looking over stuff and buying some things and I asked if they could go to my aunt's place so I can talk to my cousin from Australia who is in Leyte right now with her family. We did talk and they seem to be having a good time. I am glad that they are. We talked about going on vacation at the same time so our families could meet but we didn't. Maybe someday. Said they will go to the islands tomorrow. I hope they will enjoy it with the rest of the family. I can't wait for me and my family to go so we can enjoy the food and hospitality too.

remain active
I have never heard heard of a walkin tub until today. But then I grew up in a house which had a bathroom installed only when I was a little old enough to be shy taking a bath in the open. Anyways, so I read about this walk-in tub and I am amazed at the features. It actually looks like a mini-pool to me. And imagine having that in your own bathroom. Isn't it amazing? As it has a door I was wondering if the water wouldn't leak but the makers at Remainactive.com gives a guarantee the door seal for life. Which means that this is a quality product and they are giving their word that it will never pose a problem when it comes to using the product. It even has a hand-held shower so you can have one while in the tub. And it is easy to install that any licensed plumber can do it. Wouldn't you love to have one now instead of the usual tub?
toasted bread
I have this certain kind of toasted bread that I like from the Philippines. It has sugar and butter (or maybe margarine) in it. Mamsy used to buy this for us because she likes it too. I tell you, an open pack will not last for an hour between us. It is good. Sadly they don't have it here. I tried to buy a pack of toasted bread made from here but it was salty I didn't even try finish eating it. It was nasty to me. I guess because I am used to the sweet toasted bread. Whenever I crave for this particular snacks I make hubby drive me to the Filipino store and I get several packs to last me a few weeks. I even share it with bubby sometimes. Which reminds me I am out so we may have to go back to the store. Yay, just when I promised him we won't be back there for a month. Wonder how I will get around that.
crashed
I crashed! I was just lying in the couch earlier to get warm but I couldn't keep my eyes open. Bubby was running around and he tried to climb on top of me to get to the windows and I didn't even had the energy to say no to him much less make him stop. He noticed that I was so sleepy that he left me alone and played with his toys. After about 30 minutes though I decided to put him to his bed so he too can take a nap and to avoid any accident since I couldn't watch him. He was being good and just stayed in his bed but didn't sleep at all. I don't know what was wrong. It is seldom that this happens. I guess my body really needed that nap or else I wouldn't feel so sleepy. I don't sleep during the day but today was different. I had to because it was what my body wanted. I am glad I feel better now though. It was odd to feel that way early in the morning.

my little helper
I brought bubby out in the backyard yesterday. I thought we needed some air so even if hubby wasn't home yet I decided for us to get out. Bubby was so happy. He ran around with the shovel in his hands. He even helped me tend to the garden. Dada calls him a busybody because he has to get into everything we do. When he tried to help me and imitated what I did with the soil, he chopped two of hubby's good tomato plants. He knows what to do with the soil alright, but I still have to teach him to do it around the plants instead of on the plants. Hubby had to replace the plants this morning. Good thing we had extras. I know I can't let him do it everytime we go to the garden or else we won't harvest anything come summer. He is so cute with the shovel trying to help mama. Maybe he will have green thumb too just like mama and dada. I just have to divert his attention so he won't run over our plants and ruin the garden that dada had painstakingly cultivated since the later part of winter.

star ratings update
Well it turned out to be a mistake I made probably when I started this blog. Turned out all i had to do was check my layout page and do some tweaking and the stars are gone. Whew! I thought it might be a template problem. It was just me being silly and reacting to it right away without even checking it first. But then I was kinda busy last night and when I saw the stars I just panicked. Thankfully it was something reparable so I am back to normal now. I also fixed my other blog who had star rating after each post. I don't know what happened. I'm thinking now though, if it was something I did then it would have shown a long time ago since I haven't really messed with my layout eversince I had this template which was like months ago. Anyways, I am glad that I got it fixed. Now, back to business :)

ratings?
I noticed this just now. There are stars after my posts on this blog. For ratings, of all things! Now who would rate my posts? I thought it was just a glitch and it will go away but I've refreshed this several times and nothing changed yet. Whew! I don't know if I had clicked something. This is something I need to check later on when my hands aren't full. Surely this isn't a blogger thing because I have checked my other blogs and there were nothing in there. Will check again later. Gotta give my boy a bath before bedtime.

cartoons for kids?
I let my toddler watch television shows for kids. I even would watch with him so he will not get bored. I have to choose what to make him watch though because there are kid's shows that aren't fit for kids at all. My step-daughter once commented that it is okay to make kids watch tv shows such as SpongeBob but I told her I wouldn't let my son watch it. They thought I was being over protective of my son but when hubby watched it the other day he agreed with me not letting bubby watch it. There are words and actions that aren't really fit for kids and I don't want my boy to adapt it. I watch the show when I am not busy and bubby is taking a nap because Spongebob's antics makes me laugh. But I will never let my son watch it. I always switch to child-friendly shows in ETV when this show is on NickJr. I have nothing against the show itself it is just that I want to protect my son for now. Maybe when he is a little older I will let him watch it with me. Perhaps when he is 16? Or is it hoping too much? Lol.
fried chicken wings
Was for dinner last night. Hubby claims I make the best fried chicken wings he has ever tasted in his life. I know it is a bit of an exaggeration but I let him get away with it. At least he appreciates what I serve him. I like to cook chicken wings because he gets to eat the meaty part while leaving the tips, which is bony, for me. I don't like the meaty part in a chicken so this works out good for us. He used to be embarrassed when I eat his leftovers telling me that there is more food and that I don't have to do it. He thought I was just trying to save? Huh! He was wrong and I told him that too. So now when I cook chicken he makes sure to leave the bony part for the wife to enjoy. We may come across as a weird couple but we don't care. We like it that way and it works good for us. And yes, it kinda make us save a little too. Now isn't that a good thing?

Deal or No Deal in PI
We watch Deal or No Deal from time to time because it is on right after Jeopardy which we sometimes watch too depending on whether we are busy or not. It is not really a scheduled thing for us to watch. Tonight was an exception though. We actually waited for Deal or No Deal since it was taped in the Philippines. I thought Howie and Kris looked awkward at first but once they warmed up, it started to be an entertaining show. Howie was amazed with the 26K girls. I guess they couldn't get the girls here to dance like the filipinas do, lol. Kris is actually just in the background with a few lines here and there but she seems to be enjoying it. Thank goodness she keeps being nice though. I have watched her shows and she can be straightforward and insulting sometimes. I think that is her charm and some people like it. It would have been more fun if the players were filipinos. I told bubby to watch because the show is featuring his people but he just ignored it. There is nothing better for him than Wheel of Fortune.

cleaning the yard (again!)
We just got through cleaning the backyard and it was fun. I let bubby play and he got so hot that he stopped playing and climbed on me when I was sitting on a lounge chair. I had to take his shirt and shorts off, sprayed him with Off to keep the bugs away, and he started running around again. Hubby made me cut the plants along the fence while he did the mowing. Bubby was content just looking on and when hubby finished his thing I watered the plants which made bubby so happy. He followed the direction of the water spray and when I try to point it at him he runs away giggling. I also washed his toys which made a puddle where he stayed stomping and messing with until he got so nasty I had to carry him inside for a much needed bath. He is taking a nap right now, tired from all his tricks. I am happy we had a nice day today. And I got to go shopping alone too where I just roam around the mall while my boys were at the store doing the grocery shopping. I think I am liking it. I told hubby I should do it often, lol.

dyesebel
I am currently watching the telefantasya Dyesebel while making this entry. I was apprehensive when it was announced that it was going to be another Marian Rivera-Dingdong Dantes starrer. I don't have any complains about Marian being the mermaid because her attitude and looks fit the role. I am worried about Dingdong though. I am afraid it is going to be another Marimar. I know his career shot up because of the latter series but I think he was just a hype. And I am afraid the series, which was a hit to the filipino viewers when it was made into several movies and remakes, will suffer. I like the series now. I like the story, the setting, the characters. I hope the writers can sustain the story and will make it more exciting.
Before I forget, the story is all about royal mermaids feeling in love and getting involved with humans which resulted to heartaches and disappointments. I will not tell more than that because I want us all to be thrilled when they unravel twists and turns of the series. Happy watching!

so hot!
Since hubby is sick, we have to turn the AC off. It is kinda hot here right now with the temperature in the upper 70's. I took bubby's shirt off and let him play with just his diaper on. He is actually happy with it. He has always favored the cold weather. I am getting a little warm but I only need to take a shower when I can and I will be fine. I am used to the hot weather growing up in the tropics. I know I have to turn the AC back on later though when bubby is ready for bed or else he will be up the whole night. Hopefully hubby will feel better in a little while. He has started sweating which is what he wanted to happen. I will agree to do things just to make him feel better.
