I Act Like What?

You Act Like You Are 22 Years Old

You are a twentysomething at heart. You feel like an adult, and you're optimistic about life.
You feel excited about what's to come... love, work, and new experiences.

You're still figuring out your place in the world and how you want your life to shape up.
The world is full of possibilities, and you can't wait to explore many of them.
There goes my mindset folks, lol. I used to think that I act older than my age but hubby said my choice of clothes are for women younger than me. Of course I denied it. Now if he sees this, this will make him gloat over how right he was in the first place. So, let us keep this among ourselves okay?

domain registration

When I started blogging, I didn't know that I have two options. One, is to have a blog from any free blogging sites and two, to have my blog on my own domain as long the domain name I choose is free and of course I pay for it. Actually, it was only a few weeks ago when I knew about that. But since then I have been looking up sites that offers domain registration so I will know about my options when I decide to get my own. I chanced upon paylessdomains.com.au. I now have a better idea about domain registration and domain name. As what the name suggests, you pay less for domain registration or transfer when you do it on their site. This is mainly for australians who want to have their own domain though. They work with australian businesses with some of the most competitive prices for domain names. Registration approval is fast and easy and they also offer quality service with no hidden costs. This was one of my concerns when looking up for sites to get my domain name, the price. I am afraid that there will be more to the cost they are advertising. There is no problem like that at paylessdomains.com.au though. This is good practice since this will make customers feel secure. Afterall, they will be divulging private information so it should only be fair if the administrators of the site they want to register their domain are honest people. So if you are in australia and you want to register a domain, pay a visit to paylessdomains.com.au now and try their service.

the cutest kid

My husband thinks that our son is the prettiest baby he had ever laid eyes on. Don't blame him, please. He is just being a father after all. I do too. I mean, what parent would say their kids are ugly? No way. Some would even get into a fight just by hearing somebody make a bad remark about their kid. My mom did but that is another story. Anyways, when we go out to stores or restaurants people would approach us and always would say we have an adorable baby. Of course being parents we feel very proud. Hubby once entered our son's picture on a photo contest but sadly he didn't win because we didn't know we had to pay for it. When he signed up for it it clearly said that it was free. But after a few weeks they started asking for money. I guess that was a scam. I feel bad for him. He really wanted bubby to win, even selected the cutest picture he could find only to realize that his effort was for naught. I have good news for him though. Thecutekid.com is having a Cute Kid contest. Now I think this is the real thing. They have instructions on what to do to join the contest and is telling upfront that a fee is needed to be able to join the contest and win cash prizes. The prizes are great and the possibilities once bubby's picture is selected are endless especially since the contest is judged by entertainment industry professionals, talent scouts and casting agents. If we're lucky we might see bubby on television! Now that is something. If you know anybody who has a cute kid, tell them too. A little competition won't hurt. May the best baby wins.

This is an advertisement.

friendly site award

Thanks to my ka-link chant for this tag. I am not very sure if this site is very friendly though, lol. But anyways, I am keeping this and will put this on my other blogs as well. Thank you girl. I may have to keep it for now since I don't really know who else got this.

so happy!

I found a place where I can order filipino food! I am so happy. Imagine, if I feel like eating pinoy dishes all I have to do is call and place my order and I can pick it up after fifteen minutes? Awesome! I have looked and looked for filipino restaurants ever since we got here in the south and it already paid off. And it is just a few minutes from where we live too. The only problem now is I can't decide what to order from their menu. I want to order a combo of meat and vegetables but sadly the vegetables come with rice and the meat as well. If I order both then that means two meals and I don't think hubby will be happy about it. Lol. I probably will get crispy pata and then palabok. What do you think? Did I mention they also have lechon? Yep, they do. It's in the menu. Time to make a decision. I promised hubby though that if I don't like the taste of the food I will not order any more. We'll see.

personal tag

1. I love to eat: rice noodles. I don't think I will survive in the US of A without this food. lol

2. I hate to eat: american style spaghetti (makes me want to puke most of the time, I wonder why though because this really smells good). Maybe it's the filipino in me.

3. I love to go: to Leyte for a visit.

4. I hate to go: out when it is freezing cold outside.

5. I love it when: I make hubby laugh. Also when bubby learns new things.

6. I hate it when: I don't get what I want. Tantrum, tantrum..lol

7. I love to see: my son and my husband play. I believe in bonding and that is what they need so bubby will feel closer to dada.

8. I hate to see: things strewn everywhere inside the house. Lami panghasi!

9. I love to hear: the sound of the waves when it touched the sand, hubby's contagious laugh and bubby's giggles.

10. I hate to hear: lies. I am a straightforward person and when I encounter somebody who lies, I always see red. Beware. lol

i am going to cook

Yup! That is what I am going to do. I still have food on the fridge but I want something else. The food will be okay setting in there for a few days anyway. I am craving for beef right now and that is what I am cooking. Beef caldereta actually. No, I am not gonna put the recipe here since if I cook any I don't follow any recipe book or anything. Caldereta ala pobre ni ako style lol. I am going to use a ready mix seasoning so I don't have to do much. Mama Sita's! I don't know what am I gonna do without this ready mixed seasoning and instant food. These are probably made for lazy people like me lol. Surprisingly hubby likes it too. I might leave some for him. It will be different though because I don't have any vegetables here. I really need to get more fresh food instead of frozen ones. Anyways, gotta go cook my food. I am starving!

feeling bad

I wasn't feeling good this morning. I felt dizzy and hungry. I have been feeling like that for a few mornings now. I don't know what is wrong. The last few mornings I took acid reducer but I didn't this morning. Hubby called me several times today because he was worried about me. I told him I am okay though. I probably just needed food. I really have to eat on time. I have been eating only when I am hungry and most of the time I eat junk food. I feel better now thank goodness. The last thing I need is to get sick with a boy running around in here.

clean-up day

It is one of the days we clean the house. We will be a little busy today but it is not something bubby and I can't handle. He is already in the kitchen messing with the pots and pans. We have to have a hearty breakfast first before we start our chores. Cleanliness doesn't really last long in this house. Before the sun sets there will be dried leaves on the floor and toys will be everywhere but a few hours of seeing the house speck and span is alright with me. Gotta start now. Will be back later.

rainy day

It is dark and gloomy in north charleston right now. It has been raining since last night. I bet the roads are slick too. I don't really like rainy weather much. It don't help that it is in the middle of winter. I like it sunny and warm. But then the south badly needs this rain so I should be grateful. We have been in a drought for years now.

My late paternal grandfather said that rain is a blessing. That we should always be grateful when it rains. When I was growing up, rain was a reason for us to stay home and spend the day just lazing around and eating. We always thought of something to cook. All time favorite was lugaw- all versions of it. Ginataan, plain lugaw (rice porridge) with ginamos (anchovies), champorado (my favorite) and sometimes if available, we boiled bananas. When it rains here, it always makes me want to do these things. Sadly, I don't have the ingredients. The only available is plain rice porridge and anchovies. It gets old after sometime especially since I cook it when my ulcer acts up.

I hope when we go back to visit I will be able to cook those foods again. Or maybe ask somebody to do it for me? lol..I want bubby and hubby to taste the food I like as a child. I still like them now. I know they will like it too.

I am here now typing away on the computer while my son is napping. I can't stay in here all the time when he is awake because he doesn't like it. He turned off the pc on me several times already. Yeah, he is smart. He knows the best way to make me leave the computer alone. The other night my stepdaughter was here to show my husband the contract for the house she and her man wants to buy. After they talked she got on this computer and wanted to open slickdeals dot com. She gets on that website a lot for some reason. She couldn't get the page to load. Hubby explained it might have something to do with the virus protection I downloaded on this computer because it always acts up when somebody else gets in it. I don't know what websites they open. But anyways, so she whined and complained about the connection and all and hubby got tired of explaining things to her. They were a little loud. Bubby probably thought it was too much, he walked over to the cpu and turned it off and then walked away like nothing happened. Lol. Everybody was silent after that. I thought it was funny I laughed so hard. Bubby had that innocent look on his face. He probably thought he was just doing everybody a favor. Hubby laughed too. He does that too with the speakers when I watch my teleseryes. Life with a toddler is really unpredictable, lol. Opss, he is awake. Time to get up and fix him lunch. Ta ta.

beautiful day

I am looking out the window while doing this entry. Looks can really be deceiving. It is sunny and pretty outside but when I checked on the temperature it is only 57 degrees outside. Cold for people like me. The first time I got here I had mixed feelings about the sun during winter. Happy because it was sunny and it looked like a normal warm day. But when I got out, it was freezing cold. Why was it so cold when the sun was up and the sky was clear? It was so unfair! I wanted to protest but it is the way here. I can't contradict the weather. I just have to learn to live with it. I am still trying to cope up with the extremes in weather. At least it is not that bad in south carolina. The good thing, I am inside our home with the heat on so I am comfortable. I pity my husband who has to go out and work. He had coveralls earlier because it was really chilly in the morning. I hope he stays inside his building room and keeps himself warm. I know he doesn't like the cold either that is why we are here in the south. My son is a little different though, he loves it cold. Well, it looks beautiful outside I guess there is no reason for me really to complain. At least it is not gloomy. I can't wait for spring to get here. And then summer :)

happy day!

This is indeed a happy day. I have a few reviews to make thanks to smorty for accepting my blog. This pays off for a sleepless night last night. More than made up for it actually. I am no longer sleepy, lol. Bubby is being good too. He probably remembers waking mama up and keeping her up until the wee hours in the morning. I am not mad though. I will never be mad with my son. I get annoyed sometimes but I know he is a good boy he is just growing up too fast and it might be hard for him to keep up with it. Anyways, gotta finish this and check about my opps just waiting for me to get it done. Happy day everybody!

champorado

I have been craving to eat home cooked champorado ever since I got here. Steaming, chocolatey, milky champorado paired with dried fish. Mouth watering! If only mama will send me some tablea quick. I have to wait for weeks though and pray it will get here at all. I already purchased sweet rice. I am sure bubby will like it. He has a taste for filipino food which is a good thing so I will not be outnumbered in this house, lol. Will have to wait for hubby's reaction to it. I will be counting the days.

chrysler sebring convertible-update

It is officially ours! Hubby had to go to Myrtle Beach last night to pay for it and let the previous owner sign the title over to him. He said he had to drive at 45 mph because it was a heavy car he had to tow. As I've said before, it needs transmission work. Nothing my husband can't do. Took him twice as long to get home but the car is in the garage right now. We were fussing over it last night. He let me sit on the driver's seat to see how I like it. It feels good sitting in there but convertibles aren't for me. I hate my hair to be messed up and I don't like the sound with the top on. I like SUV's better, to be honest. They may be a little ways too big for me but I can strap my son in the back and still have plenty of room. I am a mom afterall. I told hubby to keep it and he said he might to attract girls. Yeah, right. I'll tear his *** if he does lol. Just kidding.

PS
He used to tell me he don't think it will be a nice idea for me to drive a convertible anyway because men might think I am single..as if men care about me? lol

chrysler sebring convertible

We went to Myrtle Beach last night to check out a car hubby was interested in. It was a 96 chrysler sebring convertible. It still looks pretty decent even if it is a little older. It's got a bad transmission but I know my husband can fix it. Hubby wanted to pay for it last night but the owner didn't have the right part of the title so he said he is gonna call either today or tomorrow when he gets it. He said it is sold to us so I hope he keeps his word. I know hubby wants it so much. He had a mitsubishi spyder convertible when I got here but he traded it for an SUV because it wasn't practical since I got pregnant and we wanted a place for a carseat. I joked if I can drive it and I only got a laugh. Well, he found another toy to play with, lol.

grilling steak

Since hubby was busy changing oil on his son's car, I voluntered to grill the ribeyes that I marinated yesterday. I thought it will be easy since all I had to do was put the steaks on the grill, wait a few minutes and then voila, it's ready. I thought wrong. Especially since they want theirs medium rare. They don't like their steaks cooked to death which normally happens to foods that I cook. Hey, don't blame me, I am a filipina afterall. We like our food well cooked except for vegetables. Hubby said I am just using it as an alibi all the time so they won't blame me lol. I had to keep an eye on the grill. I even took the steaks out several times thinking they were done. Of course I had to return them to the grill because when I cut a portion off on one it was still bloody. Yuck! It took me a long time to do it right. At least I didn't burn any. Maybe next time I will be good at it. All I know, the steak was good.

good news

Mama sent me a text message last night telling me my younger brother's flight is on Monday at three pm Pi time. I am so happy. He's been waiting for a while to get called to work on the boat again. It's good timing too since my sister-in-law is pregnant with their first baby, second actually but she had a miscarriage much to mama's disappoinment. I called him last night and he sounded happy and excited. It will be another ten months of him working away from his family but this is for a good cause, their future. I wish him good health, safe voyage, nice crew, and to save his salary. He tends to overspend sometimes that I have to remind him the importance of saving money. I think he's already learned his lesson. Thank you God for this blessing.

Finally got to use my laptop. Paul bought this for me a few months ago. I refused to use it since I really like the desktop but then I realized it is better to use this since I can be anywhere and still get online. So here I am now, trying to learn my way through. It feels nice actually. I still have to fix the antivirus protection that I installed here though. Even if I don't really get into nasty website hubby said it is better to be safe than sorry. I'll do it tomorrow. Gotta go for now. It's bedtime. This pinay goes to bed early so she can get up early to fix her man's lunch.
