new years resolution?
In a few hours, it will be the start of the new year. The first day of the year always brings to mind new year's resolutions. When I was in grade school (even in high school) the teachers made us write our new year's resolution the first day we went back to school. We were made to list the things we did wrong the past year and the plans we have for the new year. Do we have anything we wanted to change or do? I can't remember much what my new year's resolutions were, except for one. It was a long time ago but I remembered writing at the top of my list about losing weight. You see, when I was in high school, I was fat. And I mean, fat. I was over a hundred pounds and with my less than five feet height, I looked awful. I felt awful too especially when I heard remarks about how awful I looked. So I made the resolution to lose weight come hell or high water. Thankfully my parents helped and so I was able to overcome it before the year ended. It was tough but I did it. So far, this was the only resolution I can think of that I really worked on. For the coming year, I initially did not think about making any resolution. I thought I will live by the saying que sera, sera but remembering that one resolution I made years ago I realized I may need to make a new year's resolution again. I need to lose weight. This time, there will be no parents to help since they are thousands of miles away but I have the husband to help me through. In fact, he said he will help me by going to the gym himself. I hope we will work on this one though. We are gaining weight fast and since we are getting older it is harder to get rid of. We could not believe we let ourselves go like this but we only have ourselves to blame. We have to work really hard and diligently for this problem.

Weight loss and healthy living is a goal of mine for 2009 also.

At least I am not alone in this quest. Here's to hoping we will be able to reach our goal and look good in a few months :)
