moving

We are moving on the weekend. We finally found a place we like. It's got a fenced-in yard which is one of the things we have been looking for since we have a toddler who wants to stay outside and play. Not that he can now because of the weather, but when it gets warmer. I'm sure he'll love it. It also seems to be in a nice neighborhood. And dada got what he wants, a carport, where he can do his stuff without going to the shop.

Hubby found it by sheer luck. We call it fate. You know, when things fall into place. When you find something by chance especially when you aren't looking for it. That's what happened. He went to his friends' house to visit but the friend wasn't there so he decided to cruise around the neighborhood since we have been going there but never really take a better look. And voila! He found our new place. The inside wasn't in perfect shape but the owner has fixed it and it now looks good as new.

Paul has packed most of his clothes and most of our things are in storage for now. He was busy during the holiday between cooking and packing things up. I admit I am not much of a help. I am always like this when something new is happening. I just sit and watch and do things on my own pace. He told me he will do everything if I don't feel like it and I feel ashamed so here I am now trying to box things up. He said we might need new furnitures too so we might look around when we have the time. Plus we have to make the new place look nice and all our stuff put into place. I feel stressed just by thinking about it.

I don't really have the right to complain though. Hubby has done almost everything as he promised. I'll try to do my share between now and the weekend.

I harvested my sweet potato earlier than scheduled because I forgot to get it inside and the leaves got frosted. More than two-thirds died. I was thinking there will only be a few roots but I was surprised when it turned out to be this many. If only these were a little bigger it would have been a feast worth for a filipina :)

I bought the tops last summer from a filipina at the flea market who claimed she brought one tiny sweet potato root from PI and then planted it. I planted the leftovers I got and watched it grow thinking that it will not have many roots but at least I will have something to plant next summer. Turned out, there is a bunch. I am happy. I am going to keep all these and wait for summer to come so I can plant these hopefully on our yard. Maybe next summer I will be selling sweet potato tops at the flea market too? Hmm that's an idea.

Why? Because it's payday. Lol. As if I work. Well, hubby does. Seriously, I'm happy because it's the weekend. And you know what the weekend means to me. Days off! hahaha.. this is the only time I get to roam around the city with my family. Hubby will be home early he said. We might go out. You might ask why I act like this is a big day for me. I am not driving yet so bubby and I stay at home most of the time. We don't have relatives and friends nearby so going out on a weekday is not possible. Except when we have doctor's appointments but only for a few hours. Can't go out at night because it gets dark early plus it's cold for this little pinay here even if it's 55 degrees outside. Warmer than most states but very cold for me.

Wonder what we will do tomorrow? I will let you know on my next post. Ciao!

cocktail party

We attended a cocktail party tonight hosted by our neighbor. I had to dress up a little so I won't be out of place. Boy, they sometimes are into appearances here. Paul was horrified when he came to pick me and bubby up. I was still on the jeans and shirt I was wearing when we ran around doing errands earlier on the day. He urged me to wear something nice and give up my tennis shoes for a pair of high heels. I did of course. The reason I didn't get ready right away was I was hoping he'll let me stay at home while he socialize. Never happened. He wanted me and bubby with him so off we go. After I changed clothes that is.

There was all kinds of drink. Sorry, I didn't bother to ask what was in there. I don't drink so everything wasn't familiar except for the beer and the punch. The visitors were having a good time talking and socializing. Bubby was a hit. Everybody just loves him. He got dada's charm. Of course everybody told me too that he looks like his dad. I was about to ask what about the nose? Or the eyes? Something that resembles me. Nada! Okay, whatever. Ipagpilitan ba? Haha!

I loved the food! The problem was I can't just sit in the table and eat everything on site. I didn't drink so I shouldn't be eating much right? I mean that's the way it works with my cousins. Ang pulutan para sa umiinom lang. Period. They were all nice to me though. All the more reason I couldn't eat much. There was always somebody trying to talk to me. Tough! I only had two bites of buffalo wings. Wasn't even able to try the shrimp, or the salad or the fruits. Come to think of it, I didn't even get the chance to look what else was on the table. Between bubby and the other guests, small wonder.

I had a good time though. It is nice to socialize from time to time. We don't get to do that often. Hubby is always at work and on the weekends it's just family day. The season is a good reason to go out, wear something pretty, socialize, and for some get wasted. Hey, it's the holiday right?

I don’t know what dada was thinking but he submitted bubby’s pic on an online photo contest. He woke me up very early this morning to help him how to upload the pic on the website. He even picked the picture. So here I am now, asking you all to please vote for my son. You have to register first before you can vote and you can do it once a day, if you like. happy weekend!

It's weekend once again. To most people it is rest day. No pressures, no work, only fun and recreation. That's what the weekend is to my family. We always go out. If we haven't made any plans during the week on where to go or what to do, we start out by having breakfast at our favorite place to eat. Then we go to the beach so I can practice driving then if it is not too cold, we walk and sometimes let bubby play for a while before we resume my practice. From there we decide where to go.

If hubby can't think of anything else, we go to the flea market or to the asian store. These are my choices. I get my books there because it's cheap. Yeah, I know I'm stingy. The good thing about not having any plans or schedule is we don't know where we end up going. Sometimes we end up on neighboring cities even if we don't have business there. Just driving around.

We will probably check that place we are interested in. Hope it is what we want and need. I am keeping my fingers crossed. I know that if it is meant for us, things will fall to their right places. Wish us luck everyone.

rambling

I don't know what is wrong with me these days. I am not depressed or feeling down but I can't explain how I feel. I seem to want to do something but I don't know what it is. I feel like eating something but that food is elusive. I don't know what I want!

I'm sure when hubby reads this he'll say I am absolutely depressed, lol. Maybe this is cabin fever? Maybe my wandering feet is telling me to go out, walk, go to the mall, to the park? Anywhere? Somewhere? Who knows? I don't. We go out even if not that often though. Winter blues? Maybe.

Mabuang ko! Maybe I just want us to make that move to another place? I hope our plans will go through. I like the new place. It has fenced-in yard where bubby can run around and play.

Am I bored? I don't think so. I guess I'll just have to do more chores. I probably have a lot of time sitting around that I think about silly things.

Which reminds me we still have to put up our tree. Ano ba yan! It's almost christmas and our tree is in the closet, behind all the stuff we acquired after we got here. We have to dig it. Yay!

Good news though, bubby is absolutely feeling better. Bless! Even if I'm not, at least two members of my family are feeling fine.

No this is not about missing my family back in PI either. It is just me being silly. It's what happens when a filipina is left alone with a lot of time in her hands. The internet don't help much. Television is boring. Reading is a lot of hardwork. Yeah, coming from a bookworm that's really scary. Chores? I am done for the day. I do them by schedule. Cleaning? Twice a week, done once. The next won't be until friday.

My son is in his crib right now, not knowing what's running in his mother's head. I sometimes catch him looking at me. I guess he has an idea now that his mom is a little weird. Lol. They say kids are perceptive. You may not tell them everything but they can tell by reading body language. Lagot! I have to be more careful then.

I guess I better end this. If not, I don't know where this will lead. Politics? Culture? Mura korek! Feeling naa nahibaw-an. Hay! Aw ako na bawion kay bad daw nang maingon ug hay ingon ako kag-anak.

Nancy : I'm always trying to use every function of my fingers but can't really help but slip which resulted to pressing the wrong key most of the time.

Darlene : I always made a mistake by typing HELATH instead of HEALTH. Sometime the FOR is FOT because the R and the T are very close to each other lol! Anyway i always do mistakes when i type, everybody does i guess no matter how good you are in typing you always make some mistakes.

Twerlermz : I'm using basic or simple english most of the time so i think my most common mistakes are : redundancy, spelling and grammar (toink!)
